JULY RAMBLES

All I've been doing is drawing Danganronpa Another fanart. I blinked and suddenly it's the 28th of July. My life has been consumed. I wake up and think about this game and then I go to draw or watch my friends play the games then I think about the games again and then I go to sleep and then I wake up.

 There's still time for you, the beautiful reader, to download the game. I'm kidding.. but you could consider it... hehe...

I reached 50+ followers on my side account so I'm doing a 6 fanarts thing to celebrate. Here's a snippet lol. I can't stop laughing at it even though I drew it.

Sorry I need to stop talking about this game but it's genuinely just infesting my mind. I don't think I've ever been this obsessed with something like...ever. Even FFXIV didn't compel me to draw this much. I actually haven't really drawn that much XIV even though it's been my life since 2022 lol? It's weird.. XIV is such a weird thing for me because it takes so much of my time... I don't really get much drawing done (or much of anything else.. XIV is genuinely an evil addiction) when I'm subbed but now that I've been unsubbed, I've been drawing basically everyday. 

When I was 15 I realized that I wanted to dedicate my life to drawing anime girls. 5 years later at the age of 20, I'm still drawing anime girls but now I actually care about anime guys so I have to learn how to get good at ikemen. Going back in time to make myself think about better stat allocation... 

What can I even show you? I guess girl versions of the characters I drew recently. Most of the things I draw are spoilery ......... my bad lol.

Pictured: girl versions of Yuki Maeda and Tsurugi Kinjo. I decently like how this came out (it was a paintover of a drawpile pic I did with my buddy Summer. Shout out) but in hindsight I feel like Kinjo's face looks a little flat lol.

I feel like Yuki's face really resembles a lalafell's because I used to draw a lot of Krile in 2023-24ish... 8.0 Krile is finally relevant? Lol.

Apparently 7.3 is the conclusion for Dawntrail?! I said I wasn't gonna resub to XIV until anything interesting actually happened but err.. I do kind of want to see the conclusion to DT and the subsequent build up for 8.0. It has to be Meracydia, right?? Give me Students of Baldesion/ G'raha Krile expac and I'll play XIV everyday.

There's a lot of really good new glams too.. I wanna dress up Roid!!! I miss him sometimes... There's the alliance raids and new trial and dungeon and deep dungeon.. So that'll keep me busy for a while. I also thiink? Occult's Crescent is gonna get an update which is fun. Ultimately XIV is the most fun with friends so if my buddies also hop on then I probs will too lol.

I wish XIV did like a week-long sub.. I would buy that in a heartbeat lol.

I use 'lol' too much.. It's like punctuation to me...

 This is the part where I usually put my aspirations but I'm gonna be real my life is going to be drawing DRA fanart for an indefinite amount of time............................. If I'm still this bad in August then I think it's time for me to be put down. See you guys next month.

Last night I counted approximately how many individual things I've sketched/drawn for this game this month (so things that are intended as a 'single drawing') and I counted about 30~ sketches and drawings. I don't really know how many things people typically draw but for me this is an all-time high. Not only am I captivated by a (Spoiler) ship, but the story is just so good that I want to draw fanart of everyone and everything ever.

Ok no more of that stupid game. Let's talk about the other game that's occupying my life: UMAMUSUME  ❤️🐎 Wow.. Global's been out for about a month now and I've been playing consistently everyday and I don't see any plans for that pausing. I love my horse girls... Not only are there an abundance of cutiepies, but the gameplay loop is really fun too. I've been an Uma fan since the anime came out in 2018 so being able to finally play the game so many years later is really fun.

I usually find gacha games really tedious to play, but for Uma I don't mind it. The most tedious thing to me is doing my dailies and spamming the daily races lol but it doesnt take very long to get every daily mission done. I haven't enjoyed a gacha game this much before frankly. 

My top 3 horses right now?

1. AGNES DIGITAL - I love my otaku horse.. Cute and pink and voiced by Minoringo, whose voice I absolutely adore. I love her most from her role as Freyja Wion in Macross Delta/Walkure, but Minoringo also voices Ena from PRSK and Liko from Pokemon!! 
2. BIWA HAYAHIDE - My gacha luck was horrendous for her. But it was so worth it. I love my bighead nerdy horse... Not only is her design beautiful and caters to me greatly (big hair, glasses), but she's also a cutie nerd. I will feed her 500 bananas everyday to make her happy.
3. SILENCE SUZUKA - My favourite ever since I watched the Uma anime in 2018. She's cool and cute but also a talented racer... Absolute cutest horse ever. I love her beautiful orange hair... walking carrot. 

I'm still meeting new horses everyday so my faves are obviously gonna change, but some other horses I've taken a liking to include Taiki Shuttle, El Condor Pasa and Maruzensky. They all make me laugh and smile.

 Oops missed a month (random rambles)

I told myself I would make at least one blog post for every month this year... my bad... failed that already.. see you all in 2026. But anyway I wanted to make another blog post before I forgot.

I actually wrote an entire mountain on Kai Mutsmi (Jack Jeanne) and got kinda carried away with it and forgot to continue, so I'll probably cut out a huge chunk from that and post it another time :P On the topic of JJ, I just have 2 routes left to do (Fumi&Kisa) which are arguably some of the most interesting routes. I've been really into my OCs and regrettably FFXIV again so I've put JJ on the back burner for a while :,(

Omg.. I will continue the FFXIV ramble after I tak about my OCs but I'm very happy with 7.2 so far! 

AQUAMARINE

(It's a work in progress... they're just floating heads... when I get lazy with lineart I put down some flats to motivate myself like, "hey look how much better it looks with colour... keep lining and it'll look better")

If you aren't familiar with my OCs, the guy on the left is Alba and the lady on the right is Nina. They work at Aquamarine (also the title of my OCverse) which is a facility that floats on top of the ocean because the world flooded 200-something years ago. This drawing idea spawned from the Art Fight spring prompts where one of them is "clover", so I wanted to draw Nina putting a clover necklace onto Alba. Alba is a superstitious freak, so he looks to lucky charms for protection against his supposed "bad luck". Why not draw some proper oc stuff and also get a free art fight badge?!

If you were wondering what kind of relationship Nina and Alba have, it's something or another... You can probably tell from their expressions a little...

 I actually drew two other thumbnails for the Art Fight thing that I quite like, but I have a problem where I spend too much time on thumbs so I don't know how to continue with the drawing process. I have a better grasp now though because I've decided I want to work on lineart again.. I've been avoiding it for ages x(

(It's Aquamarine's divers!!!! Dolly and Alba!!! For a little bit of background, diving is a common occupation in Aquamarine-verse since the world flooded and there's a lot of water. Can you guess which diver has a happier life? .... But yea I'll try to finish these this month if I don't get lazy :P)

I have been really enjoying building my OCs, it takes a surprisingly long time for me to develop stuff but it's super fun. I recommend trying to make your own OCverse if you ever get bored. I actually wouldn't have Aquamarine if I wasn't forced to make something for my college final project last year so I have to thank college a little... I'll admit I didn't find my time at college that fufilling, but it definitely got me out of my comfort zone and making things.

I've also been trying my hand at writing but it's totally 100% self indulgent crap LOL. I need to read more books to get a better grasp at writing, but also I need to read more in general. I recently did that reader quiz (try it! It's quick and gives you book recs) and got purple reader. I'll take a look at the recommendations it gave me sometime..
